The official Melbourne Marathon Festival app has a course map with the drink stations on it, but no way to export it. So I pulled the course and drink station data out of the app and converted it into GPX files you can load into a route planner or onto your watch.

Each event has two files: one with the drink stations and spectator zones as waypoints, and one with just the course.

Caveats⌗

  • The courses will measure a little long: the marathon around 42.35 km, the half 21.24 km and the 10km 10.11 km. The app’s course lines are rough sketches of the routes, not the surveyed lines the races are measured on: straight segments between points overshoot corners and don’t follow the shortest legal path. The km figures above are scaled to the official distances, so they line up with the course markers rather than with the GPX’s own distance.
  • The app has one pin per drink station, so on the out-and-back sections I can’t tell whether a station serves both directions. On the marathon, the 21.5 km pass is the least certain.
